The perfect day

Friday, 10 June 2016

Waking up to sun shining into my flat one morning last week, I knew this was not the type of day to be spent indoors. I had my friend Angus visiting for a few days, so I took the opportunity to be a tourist. I grabbed my camera and we went on a little wander down to the waterfront.

When you live somewhere, you sometimes become oblivious to beautiful it really is. This is why I love photography. Somehow holding a camera changes the way I see things. A view I normally take for granted is suddenly presented in a new light.

When it got close to lunchtime we decided to pay a visit to The Mt. Vic Chippery. Located at the end of Courtenay place this is a must visit for anyone living in or visiting Wellington. I would go as far as saying, it is my favourite place to get fish and chips. It's a gourmet takeaway, their fish is so fresh and their chips are delicious. It all comes presented in a beautifully designed box. Another reason why I love Mt. Vic Chippery is its location. After purchasing our lunch it was only a few minutes before we were back on the waterfront. There's a row of boat sheds, the roofs of which are almost level with the footpath. You can climb up onto them. The slanted rooftops make the perfect spot for either lunch or a nap. There is also a gorgeous view of the whole harbour.

Sunny rooftops, good food, amazing company and a fantastic view. What a perfect way to spend the day.

Thank you for reading.
